3 Common Hair Mistakes

    Possible Haircut Skrewup #1
The "Cut way too much off" Style

I think we've all seen someone like this at least once-

As you can see, this isn't a very happy person.

This kind of person can happen one of three ways-
1. They allowed a blind 4 year old to cut their hair.
2. They allowed their mother to cut their hair.
3. They cut their own hair.

I cut my own bangs (to avoid the "my mother cut my bangs and I couldn't stop her" look) so I know what I'm doing, but some people really should just trust their locks to a trained professional.

Possible Haircut Skrewup #2
The "I've never gotten a haircut once in my life and apparently I also don't know the definition of the word 'headband' " Style

This kind of haircut can also be caused by one of three things-
1- This person considers himself cool
2- This person is a native American who religiously can not cut his hair.
3. This person is an idiot.

I personally think this kind of hair should be illegal, because eventually it will be a hazard for both this person and anyone who is in the area while this person is driving.

Possible Haircut Skrewup #3
The "I just don't feel like dealing with my hair anymore" Style

Breaking the law has never been more hilarious.

I haven't posted in a few days, but I have a good excuse. Some friends and I had a "Picking up trash on the side of the road while wearing matching orange jumpsuits" party.

I'm not actually the one who broke the law (as mentioned in the title)  It was my grandma. Yes, imagine a sweet little old lady sitting in a jail cell. (Well of all the cell mates you could have, I'd rather have one that bakes cookies and who I don't have to worry about killing me in my sleep)

We were driving down a four lane road with my cousins (me in my parents car with one of my cousins, and my sister and the other cousins in my grandma's car in front of us) and my grandma pulls into THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD.  Not just the lane immediately to our left, but all the way on the other side. As if that wasn't enough, there were two cars coming towards her. But there she was, just cruising down the road.

I have quite an interesting family.

Aways,

Burn Marshmallow! Burn!

I had a bonfire with my family last night, and of course, you can't have a bonfire without roasting marshmallows.  I like mine burnt to a crisp. The only way to get them to burnt perfection is to put them directly in the fire, which causes them to turn into gooey, fiery balls of deliciousness.

I enjoy setting them on fire so much, I even created a word for myself.
Pyromallowaniac= A person with an unhealthy obsession of setting marshmallows on fire.

P.S. I feel like this post is kinda a let down compared to my last one- everyone seemed to love it so much! Thanks guys! I'll try to keep it up :)

25 Ways to Entertain Yourself During Summer

Summer's great- no school, no responsibility, lots of free time. Unfortunately, free time often equals boredom. So I made a list of unusual ways to entertain yourself. Enjoy :)

  1. Go fishing like a bear. All you have to do is find a river, get naked, and try to catch fish with your mouth.
  2. Steal a cat from an old cat lady. She'll never even notice.
  3. Call a McDonalds and ask if they serve pickled rat. When they say they don't have any, start yelling angrily in a foreign language.
  4. Stand in front of Walmart and protest against the sale of toilet paper.
  5. Mess with the pizza guy. Order a pizza and give the pizza guy the address of an old warehouse.
  6. Mess with the pizza guy again. Order a pizza and when it is delivered, argue with the pizza guy and tell him that you never ordered a pizza.
  7. Write a letter to a prisoner.
  8. Get a big, fake, fluffy mustache and go to the razor aisle of a store. Then ask people which razor they would suggest.
  9. Mess with people on Yahoo answers. Go on Yahoo answers and answer people's questions with things that are ridiculously false, but talk using a lot of elevated language and include facts and stats and see how many people believe you.
  10. Go to a car dealership and ask if they sell the cars that can transform.
  11. Walk around in a mall with a stroller with a wrapped up baby doll in the stroller and ask people if they would like to purchase your child.
  12. Swim in a community pool and bite peoples legs, and if they get mad tell them you are a shark and can't control yourself.
  13. Take a makeup kit with you and go to the makeup section of a department store and ask people if they want a makeover.
  14. Go to a neighborhood with big fancy houses and ask people if you can have a tour of their houses.
  15. Take a camera into a Laundromat and tell people that you're making a documentary. While they are putting their dirty clothes in the washing machine, get way too into their personal space and see how long it takes them to get mad.
  16. Dress up like a giant piece of fruit and walk around in the fruit section of a grocery store. Whenever anyone puts some fruit in a bag, start crying.
  17. See how long it takes you to get kicked out of a movie theater by throwing popcorn at the people in front of you and laughing loudly at everything.
  18. Take a stuffed animal to Pet Smart and try to get them to groom it.
  19. Midway through a conversation with a friend, randomly say something in a foreign language and then act as if it never happened.
  20. Go to a karaoke place and sing terribly on purpose, then ask people whether they liked it or not.
  21. Run around in the road screaming "THE BRITISH ARE COMING!"
  22. Go to the beach, and after swimming for a little bit, run out of the water flailing your arms and screaming "MERMAID!"
  23. Go to a bowling alley with friends and have a competition of how many times you can "accidentally" throw the ball into someone else's lane.
  24. Go to a pet store and start talking to the animals. Then get angry when the animals don't talk back.
  25. Go to a sports game and cheer loudly for a team that isn't playing.
Have fun :)

My Drowning Story

During a recent conversation with a fellow blogger (who just happens to be the reason I started this doodle blog thing, click here to see her blog! ) we figured out that all bloggers have a drowning story. So I felt the need to tell mine.

So it all started in second grade, when I went to day camp. Imagine me, all peppy and happy and eight years old.

(I totally looked like that)

Every few days we would walk to the community pool, which was really fun, you know, until I ALMOST DIED.

There was this teenage volunteer helping out at the camp. He was super nice, you know, until he ALMOST KILLED ME.

So one of the times we were at the pool, he was in the deep end and I was swimming around in the almost-deep-but-not-quite part of the pool, and he comes over to me and pushes my head under the water.

I must have been down there for at least three hours.

Thankfully, I survived. (In case you were worried)

Ode to Old Books

I am hopelessly obsessed with old books. It's a serious problem. You really do not want to take me into any place that sells old books, because I will never leave.

Today I went into an antique store and, to my delight, they had old books!  And they were selling them for three dollars each! I almost died.

After sitting there for about ten minutes staring at the books like an insane freak, I found three that I really liked. One was copyrighted in 1919, one in 1887, and one didn't have a date in it, but it looked pretty old.

The one from 1887 looked like it had white paint splattered in it. It was kinda disappointing that it wasn't in better condition, but I wanted it really badly anyway because it's just SO OLD and other then that it was in pretty good condition for being 124 years old, so I just chose to ignore the paint.

Upon a closer inspection during the car ride home, I discovered that the "paint" could be wiped off.

So of course my first thought was- Anthrax or Cocaine.

After nearly hyperventilating because of the thought that it could be anthrax, my mom told me it was just the paint getting old and flaking off.

Way to kill the excitement, mom.

Bleh

It's 4:30 in the morning.

I've been awake since 3:45.

This is how I feel right now.

Only I don't have coffee.

But the hair is accurate.

Like the drawing? I'm trying out this "doodle blog" thing. Basically, you draw pictures on MS Paint that go along with what you're writing about.

Well That Worked Out Nicely

So the mobile posting works, but I don't think that I'm going to use it a whole lot because it doesn't allow posts to be very big. It works for pictures though, which is good. So you can expect to see pictures more often :)

Always,
Abby Noel

Hello everyone! Right now I am writing this from my phone. Magical, right? I just discovered this wonderful little feature that allows blogger to post via text. (I love that word-via) So I'm trying this out. Hopefully it will work, because then I will be able to post from anywhere. For example- in the woods. Or on the roof. Or in the ocean. (okay, maybe not)

Flowers and Answers

Here are the answers to a few questions that were asked in comments recently-

"But, don't you get headaches while reading in the car?"
Yes. Yes I do. But it helps if every few pages or so I look up and watch the road for a little while. (and I think it's really saying something about how good this book is if I'm willing to deal with car sickness to keep reading it)

"This sounds really interesting, is this a new book?"
From all I could find on Google (of course I'm too lazy to walk ten steps to my room where the book is actually sitting) looks like it was published in 2008.

"So I've been curious about the pranks... what were they and how did they fail?"
Ugh...are you really going to force me to dredge up old memories of failure? *sniff sniff* Okay, the first one was going to be one of my parents hiding in the storage part of my basement (dressed up in a mask and creepy clothes) and I was going to get my friend Lizzie to walk by the door, and they would pop out.  That one you can't even really consider a failure because we didn't even try it. (My parents weren't willing to participate) Attempt numero dos- I hatched this brilliant (yet, looking back, stupid) plan; I was going to rig the cabinet in my kitchen with a stuffed animal raccoon so when anyone opened it, the raccoon would swing out and hit them. That didn't work because it all depended on how fast someone opened the cabinet. If they opened it fast, it would hit them, but if they didn't, not a whole lot would have happened. The final attempt- This one was done out of pure desperation to at least do SOME prank, however horrible) I taped down the button on the thing by the sink that sprays water everywhere and I pointed it at where someone would be standing to turn on the sink. But OF COURSE, the only tape I had to use wasn't strong enough to hold it down very much, so when my mom turned on the sink, only a trickle of water came out.
Hope you're happy, that just took me twenty minutes to type out.

And to those of you that don't care at all what the answers to those questions are, here's a little entertainment for you- flowers!

Yes, I am very aware this is not a flower. Don't worry.

Abby Noel

Book Reveiw- The Nature of Jade

Car trips are always better with a good book, and this book got me through a recent car trip without getting bored enough to want to jump out the window (which is what normally happens on car trips)

This book, The Nature of Jade, by Deb Caletti, is about Jade Deluna- a teenage girl living with an anxiety disorder.  One thing that seams to help calm her anxiety is watching a live web cam in the elephant exhibit in a zoo just a few blocks from her house. She keeps this web cam up on her computer and it is here that she firsts sees Sebastian, a boy she instantly feels a connection with.

I know it sounds really teenage-cliche-romance-novel-ish , but it is really interesting and unique. Throughout the whole story, there are a load of deep interesting characters. The whole story is told from Jade's perspective, and it seems really real the way you see how she thinks about everything.

I would DEFINITELY suggest this book to anyone.

Beware- Attack of the Creepy Dead Dolls

My friend Andrea (who has a love for all things messed up and creepy) recently told me about when she was in the woods and found a ton of dolls all hanging from trees and smashed and everything. I didn't believe her, until she posted pictures....

Sorry if this gives you nightmares :(  I just had to post it, it's so perfectly real-life-horror-movie-ish.  I promise no more disturbing posts from now on without a better warning.

P.S. My mom thinks it's the work of a cult. I say a messed up teenager on drugs who skipped a few too many anger management classes.  Your thoughts?

Mayday Parade and Paramore Fans...

Almost all Mayday Parade songs are only 69 cents on iTunes right now!

Also, Paramore released a new single just a few days ago- Monster.  I don't care if two members of the band did leave, their music still sounds amazing.

Even though this is going on the Transformers album, hopefully this means more new music from Paramore soon.

P.S. Pranking today. *evil laughter*

Friday, June 10, 2011

Well today's been good...

At my school's eight grade luau, I won a $10 iTunes gift card. :)  That is always a WONDERFUL thing.  So I'm trying to make this card go as far as possible by being cheap and only buying 69 cent songs.

For those of you as excited about the prank as I am, don't worry. It's happening tomorrow and I'm going to video tape it.

Another reason today was good was that at the student vs. teacher basketball game my school had today, I ended up sitting next to a very amazing person. (If you know what I mean :)  )

I realized that I never posted any pictures from my trip to Florida, so here are some-

Oh yeah. Holding a snake.

So freaking cute.

Looks like chicken, right? Wrong. Alligator.

Even the tickets were cute.

These masks were so beautiful!  Too expensive, though :(

Oh my goodness- the song Cable Car by The Fray is only 69 cents on iTunes. Today just gets better and better :)

Viruses, Money Scams, and Weird Friends

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, some looser living in his mom's basement decided to create a virus that infected my mom's computer.

I just remembered that a few days ago I mentioned that I was going to see the new Pirates movie. I would love to write a review for that, you know, if I had actually seen it. The movie was only showing in 3D, which was $40.50 just for the three of us to see it. So we decided to instead buy way too much candy and then go back to Emily's house and watch Netflix movies.

Ha, that reminds me- while we were waiting for Emily's parents to pick us up, this kid (he didn't look very old, maybe 16) drove by and kinda slowed down in front of where we were standing Afterwards Emily said he was staring at me, but to me it just looked like he was staring at all of us. To break up the weirdness of us all just kinda looking at each other, I was just like "Hello there.". Then Emily said "keep driving" in a really mean voice and the kid just made this face like "what the heck?" and drove away.

Oh Emily.

Feeling Pranky...

So I'm watching this show about pranks on VH1 and they're all completely hilarious. So this makes me wonder, what if I pranked someone?  That could end up being VERY interesting.

So watch out friends and family. You have been warned.

Summer

I was at my friend Eve's house today and we kinda went crazy with all of her InStyle magazines and all of my Teen Vogue.

She's really into fashion and designing and such, and since she saw the Flower Girl thing I did a few days ago, she wanted to make another similar one so we were fooling around and taking pictures in her back yard.

(Don't judge. I was tired and the grass looked soft. She's the one who decided to take a picture in which I look dead.)

(This one was actually a mistake but it ended up looking cool)

(Oh yeah. I am a warrior.)

(She had this on her bulletin board with all of her sketches)

Credits
Shirt- Hollister
Jeans- Levi's that I ripped up myself
Shoes- My beautiful old Converse
And pictures by Eve (all of them except for the first and last)

Gee, this fashion blog thing is fun. :)

You Might Want to Take Your Closet to a Doctor...

...because it seams to be throwing up all over you a lot.

I really don't understand what the people on Shake it Up (the Disney Channel show) are thinking whenever they pick out outfits for these people.

I always get kinda excited when this show comes on because it's really fun to make fun of the outfits they wear.  Sorry if you like them- just to me it kinda looks like they dumped the entire contents of their wardrobe on the floor, turned the lights off, and then grabbed as many things as they possibly could and Ta Da! an outfit.

Flower Girl

EEP! This is so exciting! My very first fashion-blog-ish post.  Enjoy :)  (The pictures look a lot better if you click on them to make them bigger)

I hope you love this as much as I love this (because if you do, all of my combined followers' love would be so much it might just cause a volcanic eruption)

Okay- I'm pretty sure for this kind of thing you're supposed to credit everything so here you go-
Skirt- I made it! Amazing, right?
Tank Top-Aeropostale
Ring- I'm about 99% sure this was from Belk
Cardigan- Mossimo
Shoes- BOC

With the help if my grandma (I know you're not reading this but I love you Ma!) (Okay, that was incredibly weird. Immediately after I typed that my grandma called-ooohhh SPOOKY) Well anyway, as I was trying to say, with the help of my grandma I managed to make that beautiful little high-waisted wonder.

While we're on the topic of fashion- tomorrow I'm going to my friend Eve's house. She's completely obsessed with fashion (but it's a good kind of obsessed)  and she has like a billion of InStyle magazines. Since I know almost nothing about designers but I love fashion blogs, she thought I needed an education in the world of fine clothing. AND since she has never read a blog, I feel she needs an education in the online ranting, complaining, and overall egotistic nature of blogging. (Oh come on, you know it's true.) So tomorrow will be quite a learning experience for the both of us.

I'm going to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean tonight! I'll write a review for it later :)

Always,
Abby Noel

That's interesting because I kinda thought we were friends....guess not.

Well I just found out that one of my "friends" said that I try to hard to be funny and that I'm really not most of the time. Love you too, Brandon.

Well Hello There.

I was just looking on my website stats (where I can see how many people have looked at my blog, how often they do, etc.) and I saw that in the past month I've had 20 page veiws from Germany, 8 from Australia and Russia, and 7 from the United Kingdom. As a person who's never been out of the United States once in her life, I find that pretty amazing. So from now on, if you are from any other country other then America, I would love it if you would comment and tell me something about whatever country you're from. I will seriously love you. For all eternity. (Okay, probably not. But do it anyway)

Royal Tailor

I've always had the most amazing luck when it comes to finding songs I LOVE on iTunes either for free or only for 69 cents.  Free on iTunes right now is the song Black & White by Royal Tailor. Of course, I downloaded it and I was thinking "Wow, this is really good. Gee, I wonder if they have any other good songs." Well, they do.  Here's one of them-

Catchy, right? So in order to write this post, I went on their website to see when their band started, and found out- they're a Christian band. Until recently, I used to think of religious music as the music that sounds basically like it is trying to put you to sleep. (Don't get me wrong, I'm a Christian, but I just don't really care for Christian music all that much) But that was until I found the song that I posted a few days ago (Feel It in Your Heart by Abandon)  which is also Christian Rock. And then I find this band? Man, I'm on a streak. It feels like Christmas. (Haha, get it? Christian music- Christmas? You know? Oh, never mind.)
