Well here it is...

Based off of the judges' opinions, we didn't do so hot at the competition this weekend- eighth place out of nine schools. But based off of the opinions of everyone who watched the play, we were great. 

I'm disappointed that we placed so badly, but it was still fun just being there and meeting a bunch of other people   who are into the same things I am. Gatherings of theatre kids are the best because arguing with strangers, belting show tunes, and scolding school lockers for their tendency to stereotype each other are perfectly acceptable activities. (I'm not kidding, all of that happened.) 

Also, have any of you met a kid who can eat a box of twelve tacos in five minutes and still be hungry? No? Well then you need to make friends with more theatre people.

Okay, I'm going to need three large pizzas, a bottle of ibuprofen, and a massage. Now.

I'm freaking out. In less than 24 hours I will be on stage. Performing and such-like. 

I made this realization soon after rehearsal today as I was minding my own business, thinking happy thoughts- 

And then it hit me...

And then I proceeded to roll around on the ground and cry. 

Excuse me, my dinner is ready and I have to go eat my feelings. 

Let's hope I break a leg tomorrow. Or an arm. Or any other limb that would improve our performance.

Let me explain something to you...

I'm sure you've all seen the commercials advertising the automatic soap dispensers and the individual hand towels that you throw away after one use.

Both commercials say that they stop the spread of germs. Okay, am I the only one who realizes the stupidity in this...? 

Let me break it down for you- they say you should buy the automatic soap dispenser because traditional soap dispensers that you have to touch get germs on your hands. Think for a second- even if there were germs on your soap dispenser, you're washing your hands immediately after touching it! I don't care if that bottle of soap is carrying the black plague, if you know how to wash your hands, it shouldn't be a problem.

And then the towel commercial says when everyone uses the same towel after washing their hands, the towel gets infested with germs. Okay, back up. If your towel has germs on it, you obviously are not washing your hands correctly. 

So instead of buying these products, why don't you just learn how to wash your hands?

Or get the plague. Your choice.

I kinda just want a kitten. Who's name is Lacy.

My cat passed away a few months ago and I'm starting to feel really cat-less, especially after playing with a bunch of kitties at the church retreat I went to this weekend. 

I was thinking, how adorable would it be to get a white kitty named Lacy? 

I'll answer that- VERY adorable. 

And then of course, as I search through animal shelter websites, I find this little cutie-

And of course her name is Lacy. 

The universe wants me to have this cat.

P.S. I'm going to be crazy cat lady when I'm old. No doubt. 

It's okay, the aliens only sucked out half of my brain...

Before you all get angry about my absence here, please take into consideration that for the last 12 days I've been  trapped in an alien space shuttle. Can you imagine living in intergalactic-roach infested conditions for almost two weeks while green people with 27 eyes do experiments on you? I bet you can't imagine it. In a few days, I probably won't be able to imagine it either, because they injected me with something that will probably wipe my memory before they threw me back here. 

Oh no...here it comes....I'm starting to actually believe that I had other reasons for not being on the internet. Like the fact that musical rehearsal has been going super late recently, and then there's that little thing called "education". 

Plus I went to the most wonderful theatre conference last weekend, I'll give you details later about that. Now I have to go pack for another trip I'm going on this weekend.
